Storytelling Tip of the Day
Storytelling Tip #5
(Marketing) Stories Need to Add Value. Look up "how to fold a fitted sheet" on Google or YouTube. Seriously. Why does a terrible quality iPhone video have millions of views? Because the content of the video gives the audience value. In this case, the valuable information is how to fold the impossible-to-fold-and-terribly-frustrating fitted sheet. Is the content simple? Absolutely. Is the content valuable? The sheer number of views speaks for itself. You don't have to go reinvent the wheel to gain an audience. Think about what information your audience might want or need. What problems are they trying to solve? What are some pain points? Now solve those problems for them and your audience might just find you.
